The Tenors

Multi-platinum, JUNO Award-winning vocal supergroup, The Tenors, comprised of Clifton Murray, Fraser Walters and Victor Micallef, blend classical music and contemporary pop to deliver powerful performances and outstanding harmonies for audiences around the world. 

Since 2008, The Tenors have sold over 1 million albums worldwide, performed nearly 1,000 shows on five continents and made over 150 television appearances. Their four studio albums have achieved multi-platinum certification, and their first Christmas album “The Perfect Gift” has been certified triple-platinum.  

No strangers to the world stage, The Tenors have showcased their undeniable charm and diverse vocal styles for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee and 90th Birthday celebrations at Windsor Castle; the last four Presidents of the United States, including at the White House Christmas Tree Lighting for the Obama family; at the opening ceremonies of the 2010 Winter Olympics; on The Oprah Winfrey Show and at The Primetime Emmy Awards to name a few. They have also shared the stage with some of the biggest names in music, including Sir Paul McCartney, Céline Dion, Sarah McLachlan, Sting, Justin Bieber, Andrea Bocelli, Sir Elton John, Smokey Robinson, Stevie Wonder, Lionel Richie and David Foster. 

The Tenors also lend their voices to raise awareness of important charitable causes. In the last year, they have performed at the Music for Mercy concert at the Vatican in Rome, the David Foster Foundation Miracle Gala and Concert in Winnipeg, Elton John’s World TeamTennis Smash Hits fundraising event in Las Vegas and a show-stopping tribute to Smokey Robinson from the Gershwin Centre in Washington D.C.  

This past July, after returning from the island of Malta where they performed to mark the end of the Maltese Presidency of the EU Council, The Tenors celebrated Canada’s 150th in Ottawa with three sold-out dates at the National Arts Centre in addition to a special performance at WE Day. 

On October 13th, 2017 the band released their fifth studio album, and sophomore Christmas record, “Christmas Together” before embarking on a 20-stop North American holiday tour. The album features holiday classics, contemporary favorites and original songs.

Canada’s Walk of Fame 

 (Toronto, Ontario) March 15, 2017 – The Board of Directors for Canada’s Walk of Fame has announced the appointment of Jeffrey Latimer as Chief Executive Officer effective April 3, 2017. Canada’s Walk of Fame will join the roster of entertainment properties managed by Jeffrey Latimer Entertainment (JLE).

Drawing on his expertise producing and managing live entertainment across North America for over two decades, and leveraging his vast network of influencers, Latimer will be responsible for moving the organization forward, taking the brand to the next step in its growth.

“I am excited to expand the national vision of this prestigious organization and look forward to helping reinforce the brand with all Canadians. We have the opportunity to build on the amazing 19 year history of Canada’s Walk of Fame, open new doors and build strong partnerships for the future. With so much pride in Canada this year with the 150th celebrations – and so many extraordinary Canadians making a difference in the world – this is the perfect time for me and my team to take the helm,” said Latimer.

Latimer will continue to build on the successes of Melanie Hurley, who led Canada’s Walk of Fame since 2014 with a mandate to make a complete organizational assessment that included various programing changes, implementation of new policies and procedures, and the vision of a new “Golden Globe style” format for the Canada’s Walk of Fame Broadcast Gala. Latimer and Hurley will work closely together over the next few weeks to ensure a smooth transition period.

Sean Jones

“Magnetic”, “Capitivating” and “Genuinely soulful” are just a few of the accolades describing Sean Jones; a performer whose international stock is on the rise. His interpretive performances of R&B and Soul classics have wooed fans from across Canada and the US. This summer, Sean brings a whole new show to his audience with a focus on what he does best: Love Songs.

Sean Jones has been singing love songs from his formative years in high school, where he joined up with R&B vocal group “In Essence”, a five member vocal group renowned for their spectacular harmonies and effortless ability to connect in both the R&B and Soul Music worlds. Legendary DJ/Producer FunkMaster Flex picked them up for management, and the song “You Will Never Have Another” became a mix show radio hit throughout America. That success lead to a multinational record label deal with BMG Music.

In Essence’s first album garnered two hit singles and videos. The group won both R&B video of the Year at Much Music, and R&B recording at the Juno Awards. But despite their success, Sean, an intensely focused performer, was hearing something more in his heart and something deeper in his music, and within a year, In Essence disbanded.

Since 2008 Sean has been working on perfecting his craft both in and out of the studio. He recorded an EP, “This is Love”, that led to a nationwide tour with Divine Brown. Currently he is working on his first full-length solo album that, like his show, chronicles the ebb and flow of relationships and will take listeners on a musical journey through some of their favourite classic love songs.

Lisa Ray

Lisa Ray is an internationally acclaimed film actress, TV host, model, entrepreneur and philanthropist. Ray began her career in Mumbai when she was catapulted into a high profile modelling career at the age of 16. She went on to excel in the fashion and entertainment business in India on television and in film. Named one of the ‘Ten Most Beautiful Indian Women of the Millennium’ by a “Times of India” poll, Ray cemented her profile as an iconic figure in India before leaving for drama school in London and opportunities around the world. She is an award-winning actress who starred in Canada’s Oscar nominated film, Water, amongst other prestigious credits. A nomadic spirit at heart, Lisa returned to Toronto in 2009 post a diagnosis of Multiple Myeloma, an incurable bone marrow cancer. She chose to go public with her diagnosis at the launch of one of her films during the Toronto International film festival and chronicled her experiences with Cancer in an acclaimed blog called the ‘Yellow Diaries’. Post a stem cell transplant in December 2009, Lisa has filmed a 6 part series on Travel and Jewellery for Discovery Channel in India, taken on the role of the host of the highly rated Top Chef Canada on Food Network, has partnered to open a yoga studio, Moksha Yoga Brampton, recently completed a 8 city tour with a prestigious stage production called ‘Taj’ and a four city tour with the ‘Splendid Indian Closet’ debuting her sari fashion line in the US. She has partnered with Indian Design House, Satya Paul, designing an exclusive line of cocktail sarees inspired by her challenges with Cancer, with a portion of sales going to the David and Molly Bloom Research Chair for Multiple Myeloma..Most recently, Ray relapsed in early 2013, sparking a change of lifestyle and eating habits which will culminate with a Wellness Blog launching end of this year. 

In 2012, Lisa was named Ambassador for the Pantene Beautiful Lengths Campaign, recognized with a ‘Facing Cancer Together Award of Honour’ by the ‘Look Good Feel Better’ Charitable Program, and awarded the ‘Light of India Award for Excellence in Arts and Entertainment’. She was featured as one of ’50 Most Beautiful People’ in “Hello! Canada”, and honoured as ‘Entertainment Luminary’ by “Spark” in benefit of the ‘Children’s Aid Foundation’. In 2013 she was awarded the Diamond Jubilee Medal for service to Canada.

In 2014 Lisa was recognised as a ‘Woman of Action’ by the ICRF. She also participated in ProjectEleven27, an initiative spearheaded by designer Laura Siegal to support ethical practises in the garment industry and honour the garment factory workers who perished in Bangladesh. She also continues to campaign to raise funds and awareness for Multiple Myeloma research. She is participating in a ground breaking clinical trial at Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto.

Ray’s memoir is slated to release in 2015 by Harper Collins. She divides her time between Toronto and Mumbai.

 

Wali Shah

As an alumnus of Canada’s Top 20 Under 20, Wali Shah, is a spoken word poet and public speaker. He has spoken at TED talks, worked on voice-overs for the Canadian Football League, created and performed custom poetry for corporate clients, and has spoken at hundreds of schools across Canada.

From partnering with Microsoft and performing for tens of thousands at venues such as the Air Canada Centre, to conducting poetry workshops in classrooms for youth as a tool for self- expression, Wali uses story telling and art to empower audiences, and inspires them to empower others.

He is currently studying at the University of Toronto, and advocates for social change through his work. He is an ambassador for Crime Stoppers, Bell Let’s Talk, and has helped in raising over one million dollars for United Way. He’s even free-styled with hip-hop artist, Kendrick Lamar.
